Psalm 118:29 “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His lovingkindness is everlasting.”
It makes me nervous that so many things have warranties these days. It’s as though companies are conceding that whatever it is they make is going to break within a certain amount of time, and if it does so they’ll fix it or replace after you waste 45 hours of your life talking to various people about exactly what the problem is in order to establish that your product is indeed broken and that it broke within the specific parameters as explained in your 570 page warranty manual.

Even guarantees aren’t always a guarantee that you’ll get what you were guaranteed. It’s enough to make a person cynical. Fortunately, I have good news. The Bible gives us a simple promise in Psalm 118. It tells us that the lovingkindness of God is everlasting. That’s it. No conditions. No it’s everlasting as long as you fulfill these requirements. No quid pro quo. Just the simple statement, his lovingkindness is ever lasting. In a world full of warranties and guarantees full of fine print, I find it refreshing to find a promise that simple and straightforward.
