John 19:30 “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished."

With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” Have you ever noticed how a superhero’s job is never done? As soon as one super villian’s maniacal evil plot is stopped, another is out to try and take over the world, or rob banks. Not only that, but there’s all those people who are special to the superhero who constantly need saving. It just seems to me that being a superhero could get really frustrating after awhile because no matter how much you do, it’s never really enough. That&

#8217;s what sets Jesus Christ apart from every other hero, super or otherwise; he actually finished the job. When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave to save us from our sins, he completed the task. All it took was that one sacrifice from God’s only son to save all of us from our sins and to bring us eternal life. There isn’t another hero out there who has ever been able to say of their task; it is finished. So while those other heroes constantly scramble around fighting the so-called never ending fight against evil, know that there is one hero who finished the fight against evil, who saved us once for all time, and one day will return to celebrate his victory with us. Doesn’t that sound like good news.
